German Girl Gets A Tattoo Of A Bride From This Wedding

The wedding you're going to see today is beautiful, inspiring, and timeless. It also has a very interesting story about a complete stranger in Germany who got a tattoo of the bride after seeing her photos.

Tell us about a young woman in Germany who got a tattoo of you on her arm?

“There was a 24 year old girl in Germany who loved a picture of me on my wedding day so much when she came across it on the internet that she got it tattooed on her arm,” she said.

“She kept the picture with her for almost a year and then finally decided to go ahead with getting it on her body. Her boyfriend was the tattoo artist who did it on her during a competition at the Frankfurt Tattoo Convention in 2015. I believe it took him about 12 hours to complete in one sitting. He won the Best of Day prize for his work.”

“I didn’t think it was real when I first saw the image on Instagram. I knew my bridal look along with Manny’s was very popular and a lot of people had mimicked it but a tattoo? That’s just crazy!”

The picture was of a woman’s arm but we the couple thought it might have been a male at the time.

“I felt uncomfortable with the thought of a man somewhere in the world walking around with a giant picture of my face on his arm. I was even a little upset with my vendors for sharing so many pictures that this is what it came to. After contacting the tattoo artist we discovered that it was actually just a young girl who admired the picture of me so much that she wanted to put it on her body forever,” she said.

“The thought of that truly just humbled me and I felt so flattered. After talking with her for a while I would say that we are now somewhat pen pals. If I’m ever in Germany I’m entitled to a stay with her and a free tattoo from her very talented boyfriend!

This experience just goes to show how powerful social media is. My pictures have travelled all across the world and thousands have seen me on my wedding day. Despite feeling uneasy about this in the beginning, in hindsight I am flattered. We put a lot of time and effort in planning our wedding and I’m happy to have shared it with so many people,” the bride said.

Q: How did you two meet?

Manny and I met while we were out one night in downtown Vancouver. He saved me from a brutal pick up attempt, we talked the whole night and instantly became inseparable.

Q: Most fun part of wedding planning?

Personally, the most fun was going to India for the first time with my mom and my cousin. Designing and watching my outfits come to life was amazing. Although this was stressful at times as well, I felt very accomplished when everything came together during the wedding week.

If you were to ask Manny, he would say the best part of planning was the beer pong tournament he hosted for his groomsmen when they were being fitted for their outfits!

Q: What advice would you give to newly engaged couples about wedding planning?

My advice for newly engaged couples is to remember that wedding planning isn’t just for your wedding day, but for a marriage. You’re wedding will last for a short time compared to the lifetime commitment you’re making to your significant other.

It’s easy to get caught up in the little things but try not to worry about those things or try to compare yourself to other couples and other weddings. At the end of the day just do what make the two of you happy because that’s what’s meant to last a lifetime.
