Not much was said when Kiran and Manu first met through a mutual friend at a party. However, Kiran received a Facebook friend request from Manu the next morning. They didn't know it at the time but their lives changed for good with just one click of a button.
As their bond grew stronger, Kiran and Manu decided to spend the rest of their lives together and got married in Brampton, Ontario.
How did you two meet?
We met through a friend at a party and we did not talk till the next morning when I got a friend request on Facebook.
Where did you get married?
Our wedding ceremony was at Sikh Sangad Gurduwara in Brampton and reception was at Pearson Convention Centre.
What was the inspiration behind the wedding & reception theme?
I did not want to wear the traditional red or maroon for our morning theme. Since our wedding was in July, I wanted different bright summer colors. We wore hot pink, the groomsmen wore green, and my bridesmaids wore purple.
What was the most fun part of wedding planning?
The most fun part of wedding planning is researching and going to different vendors and looking at what they have to offer. Also, I loved watching other couples wedding highlights on Youtube to get ideas.
What was the most stressful part of wedding planning?
The most stressful part had to be not agreeing on some ideas and just fighting over little issues.
What advice would you give to newly engaged couples about wedding planning?
To newly engaged couples, my advice would be to give yourself enough time to plan your wedding. Do a lot of research, meet with different vendors, and go to a lot of wedding shows.
I know it can be difficult at times but try to control your anger and stress. It may be hard in the moment but after the wedding you’ll just be laughing at the little fights you had over dumb stuff.
Lastly don’t leave anything till the last minute and make sure you actually enjoy your whole wedding week and all your ceremonies.
