Bride And Groom Conquer The North-South Divide With An Enchanting Wedding

Bride Saloni and groom Arun tied the knot in superior style with the heartfelt union of both their Punjabi and Tamil-state families.

The couple first met while pursuing their MBA’s in London, England. A blossoming romance between them came full circle to a festive mix of Punjabi and Tamil cultural traditions at the wedding.

As for the proposal – “It just happened!” said Saloni. “So Arun proposed in front of everyone at our ring ceremony.”

Coming from two different states, the couple decided to include their different cultures in the events.

The wedding, ring ceremony and Punjabi night were organized in Punjab while the reception, beach party and grand feast were organized in Chennai according to Tamil traditions.

The venues, attire and photographer were planned six months in advance while other details like the invitations and wedding décor were addressed later.

Planning a wedding with six events can be quite a challenge. “Food and language were the biggest challenges but we planned well in advance!” says the bride.

Saloni offers plenty of advise for brides planning for their big day. “Set a theme and hunt for the best matching dress. Inform your partner before so you can were some contrasting outfits. Definitely do multiple trials before the final fitting.”

Plan venues, favors and decor in advance to avoid disappointment and overspending on budget.

The best part of the wedding was choreographing dances with friends. “These will be your long-term memories!”
