The couple met through mutual friends in 2011 when few felt they’d be a good match.
“Having so many of the same family-friends and an overlapping social circle was so conducive to the strength of our relationship—they’ve helped us build a great foundation and we’ve all formed a close extended family,” the bride admitted.

“I love the glamour and regalness of gold—I think it’s classic while contemporary which is why I incorporated it in both my outfits as well as my husband’s achkin,” Preeya said.
“Our decorator did a great job of making sure our decor complimented our looks.”
Q: What three elements of the wedding were most important to you when you started the planning process?
The outfits – I’ve been thinking about my wedding week wardrobe for as long as I can remember. I love fashion and am particular about my style so it was very important that our wedding looks stayed true to our vision.
Food– Great food is a staple of any great party. Our family and friends brought so much joy and love during the wedding week, feeding them delicious food was the least we could do to repay them. The best parties that I’ve attended always have two things in common, amazing food and and amazing music!
DJ- Music sets the atmosphere and mood of any social gathering. It played a huge role in bringing together both sides of our family—it was always a great icebreaker and a source of bonding at some of our earlier gatherings when everyone was getting to know each other.
“Keeping a level head,” Preeya said was her biggest planning challenge.
“It’s so easy to get caught up in the bells and whistles and it’s very wise to take a step back and ask yourself what is really important.”
“I was surprised at how non stressful the day ended up being,” the bride said.
“Everything went smoothly and my nerves—which I had prepared so hard to fight never ended up being an issue. I truly just felt very ready and very excited to finally be married,” she finished.
