Naina and Rohit met at her cousin’s wedding in 2004.
“He proposed on the Brooklyn Bridge inspired by Kal Ho Na Ho as the movie had Naina and Rohit as its main characters,” Naina said.
The couple’s family and friends watched on as Rohit revitalized the Brooklyn Bridge scene from the film. “It was absolutely perfect!”
As for the wedding color palette and decor themes, Naina worked with the venue’s plus points to create a dream come true.
“I loved the blush tones and flower walls and our venue already had beautiful chandeliers so it allowed for an elegant appearance.”
Whimsical draping and flowers arranged by Elegant Affairs helped bring her ideas and inspiration to reality.
Food, clothing and music were three wedding elements the couple focused on when the planning process began.
“Keeping the dance floor going and people excited made our Sangeet and Reception unforgettable.”
“Shopping and being creative was the fun part – From designing our wedding card to customizing my reception outfit, I loved personalizing each step.”
There was one surprise though!
“At the reception, Rohit surprised me by performing a dance with his groomsmen and acted out the scene from Kal Ho Na Ho… where Naina and Rohit are at the train station and he professes his love to her in front of everyone in Hindi!”
Naina’s advice to soon-to-be brides:
“Take it slow and enjoy every single minute. Now that it’s over, I miss being able to create moments we could only imagine. Also whatever it is that you want, make it happen to the best of your ability – it’s your special day!”
