Here are some important questions you should definitely ask the venue managers before finalising your favourite destination.
Is the Venue Available On The Desired Date?
Ideally, you should list down the facilities and services you are looking for before you start hunting a suitable wedding venue.
Start months in advance and try to visit venues before shortlisting them. If you have a few options or a range of dates that might work, you’ll be more likely to secure a spot at the venue of your dreams!
How Many Guests Can Your Venue Accommodate?
Always ask your wedding venue managers to give you the estimate of guest capacity in floating as well as seating proportion.
It is important to calculate how many guests can fit in the space with and without a dance floor, a wedding stage and round tables.
This way you can plan on your decor while maximizing the space as per your guest list.
What Are The Various Venue Booking Packages?
It’s best to keep at least 4-5 venue options shortlisted unless you have decided upon a destination wedding in a palace or resort.
Compare the services and price wise packages of each wedding venue so that you get the right value for your money.
Also, make sure to check for any hidden charges. There are sometimes hidden costs involved, like ‘corkage’ wherein the venue charges extra for serving alcohol that you bring from outside.
Is There Any Space For Bride To Get Ready?
If you’re booking a hotel or venue with guest house facilities, you can easily get ready in your room.
However, if you are going for an outdoor wedding venue or farmhouse setup, always check for a separate room with ample lighting and space for you to get ready or go with your final touch ups.
Can We Arrange Our Own Decoration?
Decoration is one of the most essential parts to be considered while planning a wedding venue. If you have an extravagant theme decor in mind, check how it can be accommodated in the venue you have chosen.
On the contrary, if you don’t have any decoration ideas in mind, ask your venue managers to show you some work of their empaneled decorators.
Do You Offer Any Wedding Services Vendors?
In most cases, the wedding venues have several partner tie-ups with other services providers for catering, decoration, photography, entertainment – DJ and performance artists.
So, get a list of their vendor’s prices so that you have a point of comparison. You can also check with them for any restrictions in case you want to include your own choice of wedding decor or caterer.
Are There Any Restrictions On Bar Or DJ?
Some facilities like estates aren’t licensed to serve hard alcohol. You may need to get permission from the location to bring in an outside beverage catering company.
For licensed one as well, check if the bars can be open 24 hours if you’re planning a destination planning with multiple events happening at the same venue.
Similarly, check for noise restrictions and policies about including Live Band, Dhol or fireworks related entertainment inclusions to avoid any troubles later during the occasions.
