The groom Sanjay Hinduja, who is 51 years old and scion of one of the richest families in Britain, married his long time sweetheart Anu Mahtani. She is the sister of famous fashion designer Nandita Mahtani.

Pre Wedding Extravaganza at Mumbai

Before the wedding functions began, the couple threw a pre-wedding bash in Mumbai. The party was attended by Bollywood A-listers like Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Rishi Kapoor, Boney Kapoor and more. Business honchos like Mukesh Ambani were also present at the event.

The Udaipur Odyssey

The couple chose the grandest palace of Udaipur as their wedding destination – The Jagmandir Island Palace.

For 3 days, Udaipur was the ultimate place for top celebrities from all over the world. A total of 208 chartered planes landed at the Udaipur airport creating a shortage for parking. BMWs were specially ordered from Mumbai to receive guests at the airport.

The finest hotels of Udaipur like the Lake Palace, Udai Villas, Leela, Radisson and the Lalit were booked for these high profile guests. It is believed that a total of 16,000 guests were invited to be a part of the celebrations and grandeur.

The Wedding and Pre Wedding Functions

The wedding functions were held at different venues all over Udaipur. The cocktail party was hosted at the famous Manek Chowk, while Mehendi ceremony took place at poolside of the beautiful Shiv Niwas Palace.

The much talked about Sangeet ceremony was at the splendid Zenana Mahal. Security was the main concern of this high profile wedding and thus many details remained unavailable to the media.

Celebrity Entertainment

The Sangeet ceremony garnered a lot of attention because of high-profile celebrities from B-town who participated and entertained the guests. Household names like Malaika Arora Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh added the buzz, while Nicole Scherzinger also dazzled the guests with her performance.

Royal Reception

The most awaited event happened on the 3rd and final day as Puerto Rican diva, Jennifer Lopez performed in front of an enthusiastic crowd. It was her first wedding performance in India and a one to remember.

The variety of food was also a hot topic as guests could choose cuisines from over 16 different countries.

The reception guest list included Shilpa Shetty, Dino Morea, Priety Zinta, Chunky Pandey and iconic designer, Manish Malhotra who also designed most of the outfits for the bride and groom – labeling this wedding as grand would be an understatement and rightfully so.
