DIY Sugar Cookies:

The Ingredients:

  • 230g sugar
  • 386g all-purpose flour
  • 119g softened butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

PS: Yields average 20 – 30 cookies

Step 1:

Mix softened butter and sugar in a large bowl till creamed and fluffy, then add the vanilla extract and large egg and beat till fully blended.

Step 2:

Add the pinch of salt and 1/3 of the flour with a 1/3 of the milk. Mix till blended and keep alternating the flour and milk while mixing.

Step 3:

Mix very well until crumbly.

Step 4:

Fold the mixture together in one big ball. Cover it with saran wrap and place in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour. Meantime, heat up your oven to 350 C.

Step 5:

Get the dough out of the fridge and roll it out to desired thickness (recommended at ½ cm) and cut out the shape with your cookie cutter.

Step 6:

Place the cut-out dough on parchment paper on a baking tray, evenly spaced and put it in the oven for an average of 20 minutes or until the cookie is crisp.

Step 7:

Get it out of the oven and allow to cool.
